Learn & master watercolor

  • Watercolor is easy to clean, easy to transport, safe for children, and considering the cost of golf and plastic crack…I mean LEGO bricks, watercolor is a budget-friendly hobby.

  • You’ll need the following 7 items:

    1. Water container

    2. Hand towel

    3. Pencil
Pro Tip - If you don't like your sketch showing underneath your watercolor, use a 2H pencil or a grey watercolor pencil. If you use a regular pencil, remember to sketch lightly.

    4. Paint
Pro Tip - Start with student grade watercolor, and then work your way up to professional grade. I recommend these watercolor supplies.

    5. Palette
If you are not painting directly from a watercolor pan set, you’ll need a palette. usually they are made from plastic or ceramic.

    6. Brushes
Get small and medium sized synthetic round brushes for most of your painting and detailing. Get medium and large flat synthetic brushes for washes and covering large areas. Check out the brushes I recommend here.

    7. Paper
Pro Tip - The Bee brand of watercolor paper from Walmart is great for practice. Once you are ready to make a masterpiece, upgrade to 100% Cotton, cold press watercolor paper. Trust me, it’s worth it! Check out the watercolor paper I recommend here.

For experienced watercolor artists, I recommend the masking fluid, Titanium White Paint, and other supplies you'll find here.
